THE INVOCATION INTERPRETED READETH:
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Now am I strong in Thee, O Jehovih. Thy bow in the firmament encompasseth me on
\nall sides. The follies of earth have turned mine eyes up toward thy holy place.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

2. I have beholden Thine enemies bowed down. The king and the mighty man of valor
\nwith the two-edged sword are hid away in a dark corner. There is no light for them.
\nSweet-scented flowers hast Thou grown up in the way of him who will not look upward;<\/span>
\nbut a serpent cometh upon him and he crieth out against the vanities of the earth.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

3. In the far-off corners of the world hast Thou sown the seed of evil and death, and the
\nman of darkness hurrieth thither; but Thy glories he will not behold. He buildeth his
\nfoundation in perishable things. But the hope of the righteous man lighteth up the inner
\nchamber. He beholdeth Thy judgment seat. He seeketh Thee in all good things and
\ndurable; he glorifieth Thee in Thy works.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

4. I will turn away from my house and my lands and look upward all my days. Yea, the
\nfruits of the earth shall be my servants; my crown shall be woven by Thy hands.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

5. My heart pointeth up toward Thy kingdom; but the heart of the man of darkness is
\ndownward to things that perish? Thou hast set Eon (Aries or Te) in the midst, and he shall
\njudge the living and the dead.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

6. Thou hast made me above the diamond and above all precious stones; but the man
\nof darkness goeth after these. Thy children he careth not for; he seeth not. Verily, will
\nI run quickly to them and lift them up. They shall be gems for my raiment; they
\nshall become a glory in Thy sight. Yea, I will turn their eyes up toward Thy holy place.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Before them will I set up Gau, and the magnitude and glory of Thy worlds shall
\nentrance them.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

8. Thy unseen hand shall become seen, and my brothers and sisters shall read the diadems
\nin Thy firmament. Thine hand hath quickened my eyes to see and mine ears to hear Thee,
\nO Thou Life of my life!
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

9. My understanding cometh out of Thy tablet (book). Its pages are graven with the sun,
\nmoon and stars. Yea, all things proclaim the words Thou hast written. None can
\ncounterfeit Thy handiwork. From Thy tablet will I read from the rising of the sun till the
\ngoing down thereof.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

10. My hands shall be skilled with tools to do Thy labor. Fabrics will I weave, and my
\nhouse shall be built within the square of Thy compass, for it shall be righteous work. My
\neye shall look toward Thy dwelling-place. I know Thy sight is upon me. I will be joyful
\nbefore Thee, my Father!
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

11. To none other will I bow myself in supplication and worship. Before Thee will I labor
\nfor peace on all occasions.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

12. My hand will I uplift in Thy behalf, and yet no man shall feel the weight of mine arm
\nupon him. By Thy crescent am I sworn unto Thee. By the seven stars and by the sun
\nwhich is in the midst of the firmament and is the glory thereof, and by the moon, have I
\nspoken.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

13. Before Rea (Es, the air and ether), in Thy name have I sworn. I have lifted up my
\nvoice. I will have no diadem but that that is woven by Thee!
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

14. I will sing Thee new songs every day, and find new words of praise for Thy glories.
\nMy trials shall be as whet-stones and a hewing-ax. My talents shall increase in wisdom
\nand in whatsoever way Thou leadest me for my own good.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

15. Before Thy sacred altar will I come, knowing Thy angels will come also. Yea, they
\nshall teach me thy decrees.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

16. Thy gifts shall be my gifts, my portion, whatsoever seemeth just in Thy sight.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

17. Thy messengers shall come to me, and my house shall be their house, they shall
\nbehold my labor; they shall admonish me wisely.<\/span>
\n
\n<\/span>18. They shall teach me wisdom in all Thou desirest of me. The secret of my love to Thee
\nwill I tell them, and I know they will lift me up for Thy glory. In Thy praise will I sing
\nforever, O Jehovih! Amen!

Those who sat around the table for spirit communion kept their eyes riveted on the graven
\ncharacters. He who sat at the end where the crown is, was the oldest and was called
\nrab’bah (father). It will be observed that the invocation is more than an interpretation
\nof the characters, although they are all designated in the words. The rab’bah led off,
\nbut all the circle joined in the reading of it. The gau, the plumb-line, was moved by
\nthe spirits in answer to the questions of the rab’bah. In some countries the gypsies, , who
\nare supposed to be descendents to ancient Egypt, still invoke spirits in this way.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

These Tablets were engraved on inlaid tables, called family altars, around
\nwhich the family sat for spirit communion and prayer. The father led in repeating
\nthe invocation, and the wife and children spoke in concert. After the Israelites
\nleft Egypt, the graven tablets were abolished, but invocation at the family table
\nwas continued, and is even to this day amongst some of the Jews (so-called).–[Ed.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Mithra the first was about 4,000 years before kosmon.
\nMithra the second was about 2,000 years before Kosmon.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

Invocation readeth:
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

1. Mithra said: Ye that invoke Me, the Swift, Shining, with sword uplifted. Invoke me on
\nthe Tablet of the sun, and the world, and the crown, high raised. Bow down low and say:
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

2. Behold, the rose, deep rooted in the earth. Jehovih riseth in majesty of All Light.
\nHis colors no man maketh, nor knoweth any man the cause. This subtle perfume,
\nwhence cometh it, and whither goeth it? What power fashioneth it, and propelleth it?
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

3. O Thou, unseen Om! Is my spirit like perfume? Whence cometh it, and whither goeth<\/span>
\nit? Give me of Thy Mithra, O Om!
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

4. Make my heart look upward to Thee, Thou all Pure, Heavenly! Wife, and Spouse and
\nMother! Thou that cometh, I adore Thee!
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

5. The corporeal world hast Thou, O Jehovih, placed in the midst of the lowest places,
\nbringing forth. Bind my soul not to it, Thou All Going-forth.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

6. My heart no longer looketh downward; my corporeal passions have I subdued. Yea,
\neven the diamond binds me not, the highest shining corporeal thing.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

7. Thou, O Corporeal Sun, burning and full of flame, that bringest forth the corporeal,
\ngrowing harvests, hear me proclaim the All Eye that createth, making the souls of men.
\nThou, O Corporeal Sun, that makest of the things that are made, what a glory is thine! But
\nfar off, and nearer than Thou art, O Sun, is Jehovih, Who createth without things that are
\nmade, the All First Creator. He goeth forth, Jehovih. He cometh Om, the Bride and
\nMother, nursing with full breasts.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

8. O thou Moon, hear my upward soul aspiring above all corporeal things! Thou, my
\nLove and Majestic and ruler of waters and winds, I adore Thee. But a greater, the All
\nGreat Om, fed thee. From her breasts wert Thou, O moon, high upraised. Eolin, the
\nMighty, touched Thee with his little finger and Thou hast sped on. Come Thou to me, O
\nOm, spouse of the Seen and Unseen.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

9. O ye Stars, full of shining in the high heavens. Who can measure your far-off places?
\nWho can see your great corporeal majesty? O what a glory is yours, thrown in the high
\nheavens! Thither, far, the soul of my forefathers roam full of praise and prayer. Make me
\nall pure, O Thou Om, that I may ascend.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

10. Send forth Thy Crown, O Eolin, Creator of all moving things. O Thou
\nIncomprehensible and full of glory! Make me oblivious to all corporeal things, and fill me
\nwith Thy going-forth forever.
\n<\/span><\/p>\n

11. Make me to look not backward nor to myself, but to behold Thee, O Jehovih, and Thy
