Holy Book of Light to Be Released Soon

On Tuesday morning, the Manichaean Publication Society said that the seventh edition of the Manichaean Holy Book of Light is expected to be released before the beginning of Naw Ruz.

Members of the Manichaean Church and the Religion of Light in general, will be the first to receive copies of the new edition. The Manichaean Publication Society said that the public will be able to obtain printed and digital copies soon after, likely during the month of April.

Daily Lectionary Readings in English and Spanish

“Establishing a daily spiritual practice is auspicious, but only if it is from the heart and for the benefit of all living beings. In any spiritual practice you decide to take up, make sure it is from the Truth and not based on the false ideals and religious beliefs of those who are not of the Light. Do not neglect the practice of repentance, prayer, meditation, contemplation and study. These, my children, will lead you to perfection. The constant practising of the Twelve Virtues, regularly praying the Prayer of the Emanations, studying the Karuzuta d’Mar Mani, fasting, Alms-giving, the singing of hymns and selfless service to others are some of the central spiritual practices of the Maninaye people.” (Teaching of Mir Izgadda 79:1-4)

Akhi Shamon posts the Lectionary readings for each day in both English and Spanish. It is our tradition to read from the Gospel of Mar Mani and other texts from the Holy Book on a daily basis.

Keeping the Study of the Holy Book as a Priority

In a recent Communiqué, H.H. Mar Mani Khaila said “Akhi Shamon is doing a very good job at publishing the daily readings on a regular basis.” Akhi Shamon posts the Lectionary readings each day in English and Spanish and it is greatly appreciated.

The Arkhegos is encouraging the brethren to keep the study of the Holy Book as a priority in their lives, reading from it daily. To assist in this endeavour, he commissioned some brethren to start a weekly devotional package that contains the various readings, a weekly lesson and so on in print and digital format.
