Meditation – The Gateway of Light

Chaplet of Light

Chaplet of Light

In meditation and in prayer, we commune with the Father of Greatness, with the Divine Mother and with the Blessed Son/Living Spirit, Yisho of Splendour, Mir Izgadda and a number of celestial beings. However, there is a difference between meditation and prayer. While prayer is the praise, thanksgiving and petition of the heavens, meditation is a special stillness, or quietness that affords us a longer period of time, in solitude with our Lord. Meditation that is related to our Glikhuta text is also contemplative, where we focus on a specific text and permit ourselves to come to the realization of the presence of our Teacher of Light Mar Mani Khaila.

How Do Manichaeans View the Catholic Church?

Someone recently sent an email to Akh Jonathan bar Stephen asking about the Manichaean Church’s stand regarding the Roman Catholic Church.

Do Manichaeans believe Catholics are outside of God’s grace? An associate told me there are Manichaean texts that condemn Catholicism and that Manichaeans hate Catholics.

Manichaeans do not believe Catholics are outside of God’s grace. Could it be said that there are certain people who practice Catholicism are outside of God’s grace? Yes, and that is the situation with any church. Simply because someone claims to practice a particular religion, does not mean they are practicing according to the standards of that religion.

A Gift from Maran – The Chaplet of Light

We are incredibly blessed to recently have the presence of Mir Roshka instruct us in a new, and wonderful gift, known as the “Chaplet of Light.” On 20 October 2015, Mir Roshka made his presence known, along with numerous celestial beings, to a small community of Manichaeans to give instructions in how to make and pray this chaplet or prayer rope.

He said, in part, “Anyone who prays this chaplet diligently and with perfect faith and knowledge, with a clean heart and with clean hands, may walk with me in the Light. I will stand beside the man, woman or child who prays this under these guidelines.”

The Light of Sabbath – A Sign of Unity with our Brethren

There are various activities and rituals in our day to day life that can help us remember the need for unity among all of our brethren. In many ways, rituals often tie communities and individuals together, and give a blessed sense of unity among each other, no matter how many miles away the Brethren may be from one another.

Unity should be considered very important for each of us, as it is also taught by our divine instructors. I highly recommend a serious reading of the Eighth Epistle of Mir Garendra from the latest edition of the Holy Book to get a better understanding of the need for unity among the spiritual communities.

The Final Messenger of Light

Question: Is Mir Tarendra the “final” or last Messenger or will there be others in other eras?

The name “Mir Izgadda” is Syriac and means “the Lord Third Messenger” or “Third Envoy.” With him are many others. He is a manifestation caused by the Will of the Father of Greatness. Within Mir Izgadda are many, possibly countless Manifestations of his own and each of these also have Emanations. It is difficult to explain this fully in human terms. Mir Tarendra is a Manifestation of the Third Messenger. The various sons are, in some cases, Emanations of Mir Tarendra. Sometimes the name “Mir Izgadda” and “Mir Tarendra” are used interchangeably because of their shared responsibilities.
